Betty Ashman, Business Owner and Author

Betty is the Managing Director of Expat Fairs, organising boutique fairs for quality merchants to reach out to affluent consumers who shop for unique products not readily available in conventional outlets. Throughout the years, Expat Fairs has helped over 2000 merchants touching over 15,000 customers. 

Through this venture, Betty came to know thousands of SMEs and talked with tens of thousands of consumers. She is well aware of the pains, frustrations and joy of a SME and the buying psychology of affluent consumers, especially ladies and expatriates. She sums up her experience and shares tips for entrepreneurial success in her book — Make It Happen— 7 Steps to Thrive for Womenpreneurs.

Through her vast business network, Betty enjoys and excels in connecting business people to pursue higher business goals. She received an Award of Extraordinary Women from  International Women's Federation of Commerce & Industry Singapore( IWFCI)

Betty’s business experience spans over Hong Kong, China, Indonesia and Australia she led regional operation and expansion for IKEA for over a decade. She is a results-oriented leader who is particularly adept at integrating operations and strategy, cross-cultural negotiation, building and motivating multi-cultural teams, and has a proven track record of restructuring and establishing businesses across Asian markets.

Betty comes from Hong Kong, now living in Singapore. She has a MBA degree. She is married and has a five year son.
